Geothermal Heat Pumps by WaterFurnace, an industry leader
in the development and manufacturing of geothermal cooling and
heating systems.
While similar to ordinary Heat
Pumps, these highly efficient systems use the earth as a
natural heat source. This is achieved by installing earth loops,
small diameter underground PVC pipes for use in a Closed
Loop or Open Loop system. In heat mode,
a “Closed Loop” system circulates a water-based solution through
the pipes. This fluid extracts heat from the surrounding ground
and transfers the heat to your living or work space as warm air.
An “Open Loop” system is similar with one defining exception; it
draws in the natural well water as the transfer source.
In Air
Conditioning mode, both systems use the same transfer
technology to extract the heat from the space and transfer it to
the ground.

In either application, a well
must be present. In situations where a new well is required, our
certified Well Drillers can perform this work to the highest
standard of ICSPA. Testing the quality of your well water, and
factoring the volume of water available, will determine which
application is recommended.

of system is more costly to install than traditional heat pumps,
